BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES <br /> <br />DIVISION 1. GENERALLY <br /> <br />Sec. 2.114. POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE: <br /> <br />A. ESTABLISHED; GENERAL OBJECTIVES: <br /> <br />There is hereby established a Police Advisory Committee. The general objectives of the <br />Police Advisory Committee shall be to increase community involvement in Police policies <br />and activities and to strengthen the City’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion <br />within the City organization and in the provision of City services. <br /> <br />B. COMPOSITION; QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: <br /> <br />1. The Police Advisory Committee, consisting of seven (7) eleven (11) community <br />representatives, is hereby established. All members shall be appointed by <br />majority vote of the City Council. One member shall be appointed by each City <br />Council member for a total of seven (7) individually appointed members, and <br />four (4) members shall be appointed at large by a majority of the City Council, <br />resulting in a total of eleven (11) Committee members. <br /> <br />2. Each member must be a resident of, or be employed in, Redwood City or be <br />employed in Redwood City, at the time of appointment and continuously during <br />their tenure. It is the desire of the City Council that the Police Advisory <br />Committee reflect the diversity of the community. <br /> <br />3. Members must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. <br /> <br />C. TERMS OF MEMBERS: <br /> <br />The term of office for all members each of the Councilmember-appointed members shall <br />be two (2) years, and the term of office for each of the at large-appointed members shall <br />be four (4) years. Members will be appointed such that their terms expire in staggered <br />years to ensure continuity of service for the Police Advisory Committee. Commencing in <br />2025, four seats shall be appointed to four-year terms and three seats shall be appointed
