REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />TURNTABLE ACCESS <br />An “A” frame type access ladder arrangement shall be provided aft of the tractor compartment, <br />one (1) each side, for access to the turntable. The treads shall be constructed of formed 3/16” <br />aluminum diamond plate with aluminum grating inserts, each measuring 14” wide x 8” deep. The <br />access ladders shall be located just below the turntable access area. The installation shall include <br />a lower “running board” step of the same construction. A single upper step shall also be provided <br />on each side, on the rear vertical face of the tractor compartment, to transition from the access <br />ladder to the turntable. <br />TILLER CAB ACCESS <br />Six (6) formed 3/16” aluminum diamond plate steps with aluminum grating inserts (18” wide) shall <br />be provided at the rear of the trailer body for access to the tiller cab, three (3) each side. The <br />bottom step shall be 12” deep; the middle step shall be 9” deep; and the top step shall be 6” deep. <br />The steps shall be located just below the tiller cab. The installation shall also include a lower <br />“running board” step of the same construction. <br />The tiller cab access steps shall be moved rearward, approximately 10” to 12” from the standard <br />location, to be more in line with tiller cab door. The rear running boards shall also be lengthened <br />to accommodate this new positioning. <br />HANDRAILS KNURLED SST <br />All handrails shall be 1.25 inches in diameter, constructed of knurled #3 polished stainless-steel <br />tubing. There shall be a 2.00 inch minimum clearance between the bracket and the body. The <br />handrails shall be spaced away from the body using chrome plated ends. <br />The following handrails shall be installed at the approximate gripping lengths as noted: <br />REAR HANDRAIL LOCATION <br />Two (2) sets of knurled stainless-steel handrails shall be provided and installed at the rear of the <br />apparatus, one (1) handrail on each side of the access steps. Each handrail shall be of an <br />adequate length, as available usable space allows, to provide a suitable gripping area for <br />personnel. <br />Looped handrail(s) shall be provided on each side at the forward edge of the access steps to <br />assist in accessing the tiller cab. <br />10” HANDRAILS <br />Two (2) 10.00 inch knurled stainless-steel handrails shall be installed, one (1) each side, on the <br />tractor compartment near the turntable access steps. <br />18” HANDRAILS <br />Two (2) 18.00 inch knurled stainless-steel handrails shall be installed, one (1) each side, on the <br />tractor compartment near the turntable access steps. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 100 of 150)
