REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />An embossed aluminum diamond plate access step shall be mounted at the heel of the ladder. <br />All handrails shall be a minimum of 42” high. For ease of grip, the handrail shall be manufactured <br />from 1-1/4” O.D. knurled stainless steel material. <br />Turntables with the drive motor or breathing air bottles mounted in any walking areas (front or <br />rear) of the turntable shall not be acceptable. <br />A full-size octagonal turntable deck shall be provided to maximize the safe work area around the <br />control console and to allow unimpeded access to and from the aerial ladder and the ground. <br />TURNTABLE ACCESS SAFETY CHAINS <br />The two (2) turntable handrail openings shall be equipped with safety chains at the rear of the <br />turntable. <br />CRADLE ALIGNMENT INDICATOR ARROWS <br />Aluminum arrows with red Scotch-Lite coating shall be provided on the turntable surface, and on <br />the apparatus body to indicate the alignment of the aerial device with the travel cradle. <br />Mechanical fasteners shall be used for installation. <br />AERIAL CONTROL STATION <br />There shall be an aerial control station located at the turntable. All elevation, extension and <br />rotation operational controls shall operate from this position. These controls shall be arranged to <br />permit the operator to regulate the speed of these operations within the safe limits as determined <br />by the manufacturer. Load instruction plates shall be located at the control station to show the <br />recommended safe load of the ladder. The control devices shall be clearly marked and suitably <br />lighted. <br />TURN TABLE CONTROL STATION - IQAN ADVANCED <br />The control station shall be located on the right side of the turntable, as the operator is facing the <br />tip of the nested aerial ladder (Driver's side of the apparatus), in order to provide increased <br />visibility of the ladder tip while operating the controls. The console shall be mounted on a support <br />tube to provide additional foot room. <br />The console shall be constructed from welded aluminum sheet. Access to the electrical <br />components mounted inside the console shall be provided by removing the control faceplate. A <br />hinged cover shall be provided over the console to protect the screen and controls. The top of the <br />console shall use a friction hinge to allow the operator to adjust the screen angle for ease of ladder <br />operation. <br />The console and turntable working areas shall be illuminated for night operations, and shall have <br />all controls and indicators clearly marked. <br />Controls and indicators provided shall include, but shall not be limited to; <br />Three (3) full-size joystick Elec/Hyd.ladder controls. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 134 of 150)
