REV: 04-29-25 LF
•Breathing air pressure (if applicable).
•Engine diagnostic indicators (Stop Engine, Check Engine, and Regen).
Controlled by the IQAN system, a collision avoidance system shall be provided utilizing E-Zone™
technology on the rotation and elevation systems to alert the aerial device operator when rotating
left or right at low angles and or lowering the ladder near the truck.
The E-Zone™ system shall automatically stop rotation or lowering functions when the device is
in the defined zone. The system shall sound an audible alarm and display a warning on the display
while in an avoidance zone. To leave an avoidance zone, the operator must either rotate in the
opposite direction or elevate the ladder above the defined zone.
Standard avoidance zones include:
•Cab avoidance (except for TDA units).
•Body avoidance.
•Tiller Cab avoidance (TDA units only).
The IQAN system shall also provide E-Cush™ technology when approaching extension limits,
elevation limits, or avoidance zones. In these cases, the system shall throttle down allowed
hydraulic flow the closer the aerial is to the physical stop or programmed zone. This will provide
a more controlled stop.
The IQAN system shall also provide motion ramping. This highly configurable system will
automatically create more gradual starts and stops to ladder motion. If the operator is smoothly
ramping the electric joysticks themselves, the system will have to do provide minimal intervention.
In the case of a rapid speed change (including releasing the joystick back to neutral during
movement), the system will ramp the output up/down until it reaches the desired speed. Motion
can always be halted immediately using the operator presence foot switch.
The aerial speed control dial allows the turntable operator to adjust the maximum operation speed
of the aerial from 50% to 100%. This is especially useful when training new operators or when
working in a congested area.
AERIAL TRAVEL SUPPORT
A heavy-duty rest shall be provided to support the aerial in the travel position. The rest shall be
constructed as part of the ground ladder superstructure and painted to match the trailer frame.
Stainless steel bedding plates shall be attached to the aerial base section to protect the aerial
when the unit is in the travel position.
AERIAL TRAVEL SUPPORT ILLUMINATION
A single Fire Tech model FT-WL-2000 series work light shall be installed to illuminate the travel
support during nighttime operations.
ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 140 of 150)
