REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />results. <br />a). Torque verification of all mounting bolts including bolt size, grade, and torque specification. <br />b). The following NDT methods and results shall be recorded. All ferrous welds shall be magnetic <br />particle inspected for defects. All nonferrous welds shall be visually inspected, and if questionable <br />defects are identified, a penetrating dye shall be used to further evaluate the quality of the weld. <br />All bolts and pins shall be ultrasonically inspected for internal flaws. A waterway pressure test <br />shall be performed and a hydraulic oil sample taken. <br />c). The following measurements shall be taken and recorded in the examination and test record: <br />bearing clearance and backlash, elevation cylinder drift, engine speed operating rpm, relief <br />pressure, stabilizer extension cylinder drift, aerial device section twist, hardness readings, base <br />rail thickness, winch drift, extension brake drift, and extension cylinder drift. <br />Personnel <br />The inspectors performing the test work on the units shall be certified to Level II in the required <br />NDT methods, under the requirements outlined in ASNT document CP-189. <br />Aerial Apparatus Certification <br />When the unit successfully meets all the requirements outlined in the current NFPA Standard for <br />Automotive Fire Apparatus in force at time of contract, a Certificate of Automotive Fire Apparatus <br />Examination and Test stating the unit’s compliance with the current NFPA Standard for <br />Automotive Fire Apparatus in force at time of contract shall be issued. <br />PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE <br />Vendor shall be required, prior to manufacturing, to have a pre-construction conference held <br />virtually with a factory representative present to finalize all construction details. <br />Vendor shall, at their expense, provide transportation, lodging, and meals. Any distance greater <br />than 200 miles shall be by commercial air travel. <br />MID-BUILD INSPECTION <br />Vendor shall be required to coordinate a mid-build inspection with City staff that can be conducted <br />virtually or through a digital medium agreed upon by both parties. <br />FINAL INSPECTION CONFERENCE <br />Vendor shall be required, during manufacturing, to have a final completion inspection conference <br />in-person at the site of the manufacturing facility with four (4) City staff to inspect the apparatus <br />after construction. <br />Vendor shall, at their expense, provide transportation, lodging, and meals for City staff.
