Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 9, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement for Legal Services with Meyers Nave, A Professional Corporation for the Redwood Life Evolve <br />Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Attorney to execute an Agreement for Legal Services with <br />Meyers Nave, A Professional Corporation. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Attorney’s Office requires the services of special counsel to provide land use, real estate, and <br />CEQA legal services in connection with the Redwood Life Evolve Project. <br />On July 24, 2023, the City Council adopted a resolution of intention to initiate proceedings to consider <br />repeal of the Westport Specific Plan and adopt a precise plan for a Research & Development Office and <br />Life Sciences Campus at 800-3400 Bridge Parkway (the “Redwood Life Evolve Project”). At a joint study <br />session with the City Council and Planning Commission on March 4, 2025, staff provided an estimated <br />timeline for consideration of the Redwood Life Evolve Project. The timeline anticipated work on the draft <br />Precise Plan and Environmental Impact Report to start in the second quarter of 2025, with expected <br />project completion in 2027. <br />6.J. - Page 1 of 3 <br />80
