Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 9, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement with the County of San Mateo for the City of Redwood City to provide core agency services <br />at the Fair Oaks Community Center for three years, FY 2025-26, FY 2026-27, and FY 2027-28 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute agreement between the County of San <br />Mateo and the City of Redwood City in the amount of $1,793,283 to provide critical safety net services to <br />vulnerable, low-income County residents through the Fair Oaks Community Center Information and <br />Referral Program from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Healthy Community for All <br />BACKGROUND <br />In 1982, the County of San Mateo (the County) first contracted with the City of Redwood City to provide <br />information and referral services at the Fair Oaks Community Center to low, very low, and extremely low- <br />income residents of Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, Woodside, Atherton, and Portola Valley. One of the <br />eight Core Services Agencies countywide, the Fair Oaks Community Center’s Information and Referral <br />Program has been providing vital safety net services including food assistance, homeless assistance, <br />homeless prevention assistance, and other services for 40 years. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On January 24, 2025, the County of San Mateo issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking proposals for <br />providers of Core Service Agency emergency and safety net services covering one of the eight <br />6.L. - Page 1 of 51 <br />98
