Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 9, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement with Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) for grant from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative <br />Donor Advised Fund, an advised fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Grant Agreement between the Silicon <br />Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) and the City of Redwood City (City) for a $200,000 grant award to <br />the City for general operating support of the Fair Oaks Community Center from May 1, 2025 to April 30, <br />2027. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Healthy Community for All <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City has received multiple grants for the Fair Oaks Community Center from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative <br />(CZI) since 2017. In 2023, the City received a two-year $200,000 grant to support safety net and homeless <br />services for the time period of 2023 to 2025. These funds were used to support a contract Human Services <br />Coordinator position. Adding this temporary help allowed the Human Services Manager to serve as <br />citywide Homeless Services Manager, coordinating on homeless initiatives across City departments. <br />Current funding for the contract Human Services Coordinator ends on June 30, 2025. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The City has received a grant award of $200,000 for general operating support of the Fair Oaks Community <br />Center from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Donor Advised <br />6.M. - Page 1 of 9 <br />149
