<br /> Annual Action Plan <br /> <br />70 <br />OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 09/30/2021) <br />and federally funded housing subsidy programs (both time limited and permanent) and to <br />provide time limited housing subsidies for residents who are often otherwise not eligible for <br />shelter or the state and federally funded housing subsidy programs (i.e., undocumented <br />residents). The City plans to use its second round of ERF grant funds to provide case <br />management and referrals to supportive services to households receiving time-limited housing <br />subsidies with the focus on transitioning residents to interim and permanent housing. <br />Helping low-income individuals and families avoid becoming homeless, especially extremely <br />low-income individuals and families and those who are: being discharged from publicly <br />funded institutions and systems of care (such as health care facilities, mental health facilities, <br />foster care and other youth facilities, and corrections programs and institutions); or, receiving <br />assistance from public or private agencies that address housing, health, social services, <br />employment, education, or youth needs. <br />As indicated previously, FOCC is the Core Services Agency serving the broader Redwood City <br />community. Services include: information and referral program, homeless help desk, childcare <br />and pre-school, crisis intervention, classes including ESL/citizenship, exercise, art, computers, <br />food programs, shelter referrals, housing assistance, deposit and rental assistance, legal <br />services, older adult services, including meal programs, classes and other activities. FOCC’s <br />Human Services Specialist conduct intake assessments to then connect individuals and families <br />to appropriate services to help prevent and address homelessness, as needed. The City’s FOCC <br />provides a critical safety net for the community. <br />For PY 2025, the City expects to provide safety net services to over 5,600 individuals in 2,000 <br />unduplicated households with safety net services including food, financial assistance, crisis <br />interventions, transportation assistance, and shelter referrals. <br />As noted in the Affordable Housing Section (AP-55), the City is taking several actions to <br />preserve unsubsidized affordable housing through its Housing Preservation Program (HPP) and <br />to increase the supply of new affordable housing in order to help low income-families have <br />access to affordable housing and avoid becoming homeless. <br />Discussion <br /> <br /> <br />7.A. - Page 78 of 189 <br />282
