7B <br /> Page 17 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RES�LUTION 4F THE CITY C�UNCt� OF THE C� FEES <br /> REDW��D C1TY ADOPTING THE SCHEDULE OF <br /> RELA7ED TO EVENTS AT CDURTHOUSE SC�UARE <br /> WHEREAS, the Cou�thouse Square is a unique community asset and� <br /> gathering p1ace for the benefit of all o# the res�dents �n San Mateo County a <br /> shall be used solely as a public piaza accord�ng to the Cooperative Agreement <br /> between fhe County of San Nlafeo and the City of Redwaod Crfy for Preservatron <br /> of the Nistoric County Courthouse Block, Removaf oF fhe So�fh Annex, <br /> Recons�ruction of the Courthouse Farade anc� Crea�ron of Courthouse Ptaza, and <br /> Gran�of Easement and Lrcense, May 3, 20�5; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City t"Citjr„) has the authority to manage <br /> and operate Cour�house Square; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City's existing Municipal Code does not currentiy en a Id <br /> the City to recover costs associated with planning, permitting, secur�ng <br /> otherwise regulating events at Courthouse Square; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed 4rdinance goVerning the use of Courthouse <br /> Square set forth in Chapter 33A Article lll of the Redwood City Municipal Code <br /> aflows the City to establish a fee structure for even#s and activities that require City <br /> sen►ices; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed Schedule of Fees ailows the City to recover <br /> costs associated with the departmental review and permitting process for speciai <br /> events at Cour#house Square; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed Ordinance set fvrth in Chapter 33A Article I11 of <br /> the Redwood City Municipal Code and fhe City's Administrati�e Guideli as he <br /> Courthouse Square require a permittee, under cer#ain c�rcumstances, to p y <br /> City's departmental service charge so tha# the City may reco�er costs associated <br /> with supporting events; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wants to ensure tha� pe�mit applicants bear their share <br /> of the eost of public services required to support special even�s at Courthouse <br /> Square, including the associated cos#s and resources necessary to process the <br /> permit and to support, clean up and repair City-operated facilities of Courthouse <br /> Square. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CiTY CQUNCIL OF THE C1TY OF R�DWOOD <br /> CITY DOES H�REBY RESOLV� AS FOLLaWS: <br /> 1.
