Policy <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager or their designee to execute the purchase of five Ford <br />F-150 Lightnings from Towne Motor Company dba Towne Ford Sales of Redwood City, CA in the amount <br />of $290,914. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City's (City) Fleet Replacement Program is designed to provide a structure for <br />evaluating vehicles and equipment to replace them at the most economically advantageous point in their <br />life cycle. At pre-designated intervals, vehicles and equipment undergo a thorough evaluation including <br />but not limited to age, mileage, condition, maintenance history, downtime, anticipated future repairs, <br />usage, and vehicle capabilities. This program is also designed to assist user departments in evaluating their <br />fleet assets' operational deployment strategies to maximize operational efficiency. <br />The Public Works Services (PWS) Department’s Equipment Services Division (Division) will be purchasing <br />five vehicles for various City Departments in 2025 that will either be reaching the end of their useful life <br />or required to support increased staffing levels.
