Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 23, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Approval of Agreement for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) coordination services with the Woodside <br />Fire Protection District <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize City Manager to execute Agreement for Emergency Medical Services <br />(EMS) Services with the Woodside Fire Protection District from January 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027, for a <br />not-to-exceed amount of $79,500. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City and the Woodside Fire Protection District (WFPD) have established a <br />longstanding cooperative relationship in providing fire protection and emergency services. This includes <br />prior exchange of services agreements dating before 2007. These shared resources and training optimize <br />EMS delivery and compliance with state and local requirements. <br />Building upon these foundations, the City and WFPD have periodically entered into formalized <br />agreements to enhance collaboration, particularly around EMS delivery and oversight. These agreements <br />have clearly defined responsibilities related to EMS training, certification management, narcotics control, <br />and inter-agency communication. The current agreement continues this legacy with more defined terms <br />and updated operational scopes reflective of modern EMS protocols and inter-agency demands. <br />6.G. - Page 1 of 10 <br />143
