The highlights of the agreement include: <br />WFPD Responsibilities through its EMS Battalion Chief (MED2): <br />Restock narcotics at Redwood City Fire Station 9 and maintain associate records <br />Disseminate EMS policy updates and provide clinical oversight <br />Serve as liaison with the Local EMS Agency (LEMSA) and as Designated Infection Control Officer <br />(DICO) <br />Respond to multi-casualty and critical incidents when present in San Mateo County <br />Oversee Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/paramedic training credentials and joint training <br />program coordination <br />Redwood City Responsibilities: <br />Maintain City medical supplies & equipment <br />Monitor City EMT/Paramedic certificates, qualifications, and other related records <br />Provide instructors for joint EMS training <br />Act as liaison and DICO representative for training and EMS-related communication with WFPD <br />Joint Responsibilities: <br />Based on attendance ratios, both parties will share tuition costs for third-party training such as PHTLS, <br />PALS, ACLS, and CPR. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The agreement results in no net financial cost to the City, as there is an even exchange of services between <br />the City and WFPD, with no compensation due to either party. EMS services provided by WFPD totaling <br />$79,500 during the term of the Agreement are compensated via pass-through payments from the City of <br />San Carlos. Shared training expenses for third party EMS instruction are modest and will be apportioned <br />based on participation using the Fire Department EMS budget. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />6.G. - Page 2 of 10 <br />144
