Page 4 of 7 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />VOICE Program (Youth Leadership Institute): <br />o 12 youth participated in facilitation training, empowerment workshops, and town halls <br />advocating for youth-centered policies in partnership with Redwood City IDEAL team <br />(Nov, Feb, May). <br />o Outcome: Youth led community dialogues influencing local policy and services. <br />OYE (Our Youth Empowered) MC Training & Conference: <br />o 5 youth trained in public speaking and facilitation skills; 4 youth led sessions at the OYE <br />2025 Conference, the largest regional youth-led event (Feb–Mar). <br />o Outcome: Developed public speaking confidence and leadership skills. <br />o Partners: OYE Planning Committee, Youth Legal Justice. <br />Community Events & Culturally Rooted Engagement <br />Outreach: <br />o Over 30 youth involved in unsheltered outreach, bike donation events, and mental health <br />awareness campaigns in partnership with CHASELOVE (Nov, Feb, May). <br />o Outcome: Strengthened youth community service and leadership in social justice. <br />o Partners: CHASELOVE <br />Cultural Celebrations: <br />o 15+ Youth engaged in diverse cultural events, including Diwali and Holi Festival <br />celebrations at Cañada College, Paloween event with Redwood City Police Department, <br />and mindfulness workshops (Oct, Feb, Mar). <br />o Outcome: Enhanced cultural identity and community belonging. <br />o Partners: Cañada College, Redwood City Police Department <br />Youth-Led Social Events: <br />o 25+ youth participated in citywide Teen Takeover events, outdoor movie nights, and <br />networking dinners (Apr, May). <br />o Outcome: Increased social connection and youth empowerment <br />o Partners: Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br />Public Safety Collaboration <br />Youth & Public Safety Engagement: <br />o 50 Youth participated in Police Advisory Committee town halls, group lunches, and youth <br />empowerment collaborations with Redwood City Police Department and San Mateo <br />Police Department (Nov, Mar–May). <br />o Outcome: Improved youth civic participation and community safety awareness. <br />o Partners: Redwood City Police Advisory Committee, Redwood City IDEAL team <br />Looking ahead to FY 2025-26, the proposed amendment will continue to support youth activities into the <br />summer season.
