Page 1 of 5 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: June 23, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Grant application and project approvals for San Mateo County Transportation Authority’s Measure W <br />Regional Transit Connections Program, Bay Trail - Seaport Blvd Multi-Use Pathway Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution supporting the Bay Trail - Seaport Blvd Multi-Use Pathway Project and authorizing <br />submittal of an application to the San Mateo County Transportation Authority for Measure W Regional <br />Transit Connections Program funding. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Seaport Boulevard Path is an important first-last mile connection to the future ferry terminal, as <br />identified in Redwood City-adopted transportation plans, RWCMoves and Walk Bike Thrive Plan. It <br />supports the City Council’s Strategic Priority of Transportation and initiatives to create policies and <br />infrastructure to support zero emission trips, enhance regional mobility and ensure Redwood City is <br />considered in all strategic regional transportation initiatives. Additionally, this project is a priority project <br />listed on the City’s Transportation Impact Fee Projects List and the City’s approved Capital Improvement <br />Program. <br />On April 3, 2025, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) issued a call for projects for the <br />Measure W Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Cycle 1 program. Approximately $70 million is available for <br />the four-year 2025-2029 cycle, 15 percent ($10.5 million) of which is allocated for first-last mile <br />connection projects to regional transit facilities. <br />6.B. - Page 1 of 7 <br />64
