The
team waters the planters, conducts power washing, sets up and secures tables and chairs, empties
garbage and recycling containers, and much more.
Banners and Holiday Décor – RCIA spiced up the streets through creative and colorful street
banner installations, changed seasonally and for the holidays. Around the winter holidays, RCIA
added to the merriment by supporting holiday decorations, tree lighting, and the Merrie Carolers
to get everyone into the spirit.
RCIA Bi-Weekly Newsletter – Continued creation and submittal of a bi-weekly newsletter
highlighting business resources, upcoming events, and changing COVID-19 restrictions.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City of Redwood City participates in RCIA as a property owner within the district. The 2022-2023
yearly assessment for City-owned properties downtown was approximately $58,615. This is paid to the
County as a tax levy.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council may choose to not accept the enclosed annual reports and require that additional
amendments or information be provided.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A – Resolution Accepting the Annual Report from the Redwood City Improvement Association
Attachment B – RCIA Annual Report and Annual Financial Statements for FY 2022-2023
6.D. - Page 3 of 21
82
