SANITARY SEWERS 02 7300-3 <br /> <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Sanitary sewer gravity mains shall be subject to final cleaning and video <br />inspection, a ball test, infiltration and leakage tests. Sanitary sewer force mains <br />shall be subject to final video inspection, air testing, and hydrostatic and leakage <br />tests. <br />B. Class of pipe requirements shown or called for on the plans shall be the minimum <br />acceptable. <br />C. Construction practices for PVC pipe shall comply with Uni-Bell's "Handbook of <br />PVC Pipe". <br />D. The Contractor shall carry out the operations in strict accordance with all applicable <br />OSHA regulations. <br />E. Delivery, Storage and Handling: <br />1. Transport, handle, and store pipe and fittings as recommended by <br />manufacturer. <br />2. If pipe and fittings become damaged before or during installation, it shall be <br />repaired as recommended by the manufacturer or replaced as required by the <br />Engineer at the Contractor’s expense, before proceeding further. <br />3. Deliver, store, and handle other materials as required to prevent damage. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Shop drawings, catalog data and manufacturer’s technical data showing complete <br />information on material composition, physical properties, and dimension of pipe <br />and fittings. Include manufacturer’s recommendation for handling, storage, and <br />repair of pipe and fittings if damaged. <br />B. Television inspection reports and video made after pipe installation. (See Section <br />02 7320 for details of submittals). <br />C. Grout and concrete design mixes and testing reports. <br />D. The ENGINEER may require manufacturer's certificates showing conformance <br />with this specification with any shipment of materials to the job site. <br />1. Certification of Compliance: Obtained from the pipe manufacturer, stating that <br />all HDPE pipe and associated fittings have been manufactured and tested in <br />accordance with these specifications and the current standards. Submit results <br />of factory testing and inspection regardless of whether or not they were <br />witnessed by the Engineer. <br />E. Certificates of Qualification for HDPE: <br />1. Certification from pipe and/or the fusion machine manufacturer that Contractor <br />is qualified to join, lay, and handle pipe.
