Certificates of qualification for persons to be fusing HDPE pipe to verify that persons fusing HDPE pipe shall be certified under 49 CFR and have a minimum of 2 years of experience with fusing HDPE pipe of twelve (12) inches or larger diameter. 3. Experience and training record of persons to be fusing HDPE pipe. 4. Submit written certification from the HDPE pipe manufacturer and/or fusion machine manufacturer from a test-based certification program in compliance with prescribed procedure in ASTM F260 that the pipe fusion technician has received training in the proper use of the fusion equipment and pipe fusion machine manufacturer’s recommended fusion procedures. 5. Written certification shall be submitted for each pipe fusion technician working on the project. Pipe fusion technicians shall not be permitted to work on the project until proper certification is received. 6. Training or requalification shall have been obtained within 12 months prior to beginning work on the project. 7. Trail fusion welds shall be performed by a certified fusion specialist and the contractors submit samples to the owner for review prior to installation of the pipe. Full penetration welds shall provide homogenous material across the cross section of the weld. The fusion machine employed for the trial welds shall be the same machine to be utilized for the installation work. F. The CONTRACTOR shall submit a sewage bypass pumping and/or diversion plan for review by the ENGINEER at least 15 working days prior to pipe installation. The sewage bypass pumping and/or diversion plan shall include an emergency response plan to be followed in the event of a failure of the bypass pumping and/or diversion system. The CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER 24 hours prior to commencing the bypass pumping operation. The CONTRACTOR’S plan for sewage bypass pumping and/or diversion shall conform to Section 02 7400 of these specifications and be satisfactory to the ENGINEER before the CONTRACTOR shall be allowed to commence sewage bypass pumping and/or diversion. G. As-built drawings: The CONTRACTOR shall indicate and draw, with clear and accurate dimensions, on plans the as-built locations of newly installed sewer mains, laterals and cleanouts. 1.05 JOB CONDITIONS A. Note and conform with conditions and requirements indicated and specified under Section 02 2020 of these Specifications. B. CONTRACTOR shall conduct operations and schedule cleanup in a manner to cause the least possible obstruction and inconvenience to traffic, pedestrians and to adjacent property owners or tenants.
