One way the Arts Commission accomplishes this goal is by issuing grants to
community nonprofit organizations that support art and cultural activities through criteria developed by
the Commission. City funding is allocated through the budget process for these grants. For Fiscal Year
2025- 2026 a total of $55,000 is available for large grants (over $1,500). The Commission considered the
following priorities in making its funding decisions in 2025:
• Projects that celebrate diversity and equity
• Projects that are inclusive to all ages and abilities
• Projects that engage youth through performing arts, visual arts, and cultural experiences
• Projects that span a spectrum of art forms (music, theater, cinema, literature, painting, sculpture,
and architecture, etc.)
6.E. - Page 1 of 7
71
