Page 2 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />ANALYSIS <br />On June 5, 2025, the Arts Commission met to consider applications for large grant funding for Fiscal Year <br />2025-2026. While the Arts Commission budget includes $55,000 for large grants, thirteen local non-profit <br />cultural and arts organizations submitted large grant requests totaling $78,590. <br />The Arts Commission’s criteria for evaluation included: <br /> <br />1. Applicants must request funds for a project based in Redwood City. <br />2. Applicants requesting funds must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal <br />sponsor. The Commission may request copies of past financial statements. <br />3. Funding requests must represent no more than 20% of an applicant’s operating income. Funding <br />may not be used for staff salaries. <br />4. A complete and accurate application detailing the proposed project along with attainable goals, <br />objectives, time frames, and an evaluation procedure must be submitted by all established due <br />dates. <br />5. The applicant must first obtain permission for the use of the facility and coordinate the time, date <br />and specific requirements for the event or project with the facility owners prior to applying for <br />Commission funding. <br />6. All grant applications must be completed and presented to the Commission by an official <br />representative of the requesting organization. <br />7. The Commission will give additional consideration to a grant request if the requesting organization <br />has applied for matching funds. <br />The Commission’s recommendations for funding are contained in Attachment A of this report with a brief <br />description of the purpose of each grant request. The Commission hereby requests that its proposed <br />recommendations for large grant recipients be approved and authorized by the City Council. <br />6.E. - Page 2 of 7 <br />72
