Please note that there is a 120-day statute of limitations for challenging all water rates should the proposed <br />adjustments be adopted. <br />Page 8 of 8 <br />(iii) Describe how the proposed rates violate the provisions of law you cited above. <br />Such a detailed explanation must include references to the Water Rate Study, <br />legal authority, and any additional data or evidence that would enable the City to <br />understand the grounds for the objector’s claim that the proposed rates do not <br />comply with the law. If an objection includes expert analysis, the expert’s contact <br />information and statement of their qualifications must also be included; <br />(iv) Provide the name of the record owner or customer of record; <br />(v) Identify the affected parcel by assessor’s parcel number or service address; and, <br />(vi) Include the signature of the record owner or customer of record with respect to <br />the identified parcel. <br /> <br />To be valid, all written objections must include the information listed above and be received by the City <br />Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on September 25, 2025, at the address below (or at the email address <br />council@redwoodcity.org). <br /> <br />ATTN: City Clerk (Water Rates) <br />City of Redwood City <br />1017 Middlefield Road <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 <br /> <br />Failure to timely object in writing bars any right to challenge the proposed water rates through a legal <br />proceeding and any such action may be limited to issues identified in the challenger’s objection. <br /> <br />Prior to the close of the public hearing, the City Council will consider and respond in writing to any timely, <br />valid written objections. The City’s responses will explain the substantive basis for retaining or altering <br />the proposed water rates in response to the written objection, and, if applicable, the grounds for not <br />making any amendments in response to the objection. <br /> <br />The proposed water rates are subject to Government Code section 53759.
