Please note that there is a 120-day statute of limitations for challenging all water rates should the proposed <br />adjustments be adopted. <br />Page 1 of 8 <br />Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Water Rate Increases <br />Monday, November 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. <br />City Council Chambers <br />1017 Middlefield Road <br />Redwood City, California 94063 <br />On Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City will hold a public hearing to consider updates and increases to the <br />City’s water rates for all water customers. If approved, these updates and increases will be effective on <br />January 1, 2026, January 1, 2027, and January 1, 2028. The City Council will also consider revisions to the <br />City’s Water Enterprise reserve target. Members of the public may participate in the public hearing in <br />person, in writing, or as otherwise provided on the agenda, published at least 72 hours in advance, here: <br />https://www.redwoodcity.org/city-hall/city-council/city-council-meetings-agendas-and-minutes. The <br />purpose of this notice is to describe the proposed rate updates and increases and to notify you of the <br />public hearing. <br />THE PROPOSAL <br />The proposed water rates are calculated to proportionately recover the cost of providing water services <br />to each customer class. The proposed rate updates are designed to ensure that the revenue collected <br />from the water rates is sufficient to cover, but does not exceed, the City’s costs of providing water services <br />to its customers. The basis upon which the proposed water rates were calculated is set forth in the City <br />of Redwood City Water Rate Cost-of-Service Study dated July 2025 (“Water Rate Study”), which can be <br />found on the City’s website at https://www.redwoodcity.org/utilityrates and is available upon request in <br />the City Clerk’s office.
