The motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. 8. STAFF REPORTS 8.A. City Council appointments to the Police Advisory Committee (209) City Clerk Yessika Castro gave an overview of the appointment process. The following members of the public provided comments: • Tito Alvarez Recommendation: 1. By roll call vote, appoint for the following: a. Four full-term seats (4 years) on the Police Advisory Committee expiring May 31, 2029; b. Three full-term seats (3 years) on the Police Advisory Committee expiring May 31, 2028; and 2. By motion, use the current applicant pool to fill any additional vacancies on the Police Advisory Committee that may occur between now and January 31, 2026, provided there are at least two qualified applicants for each vacancy for City Council consideration. CEQA: This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) By roll call vote, the following members were appointed to the Police Advisory Committee for four-year terms ending May 31, 2029: • Austin Baik (Chu, Gee, Howard, Padilla, Sturken, Martínez Saballos) • Christie Chang (Gee, Howard, Padilla, Sturken, Eakin, Martínez Saballos) • Clara Jaeckel (Gee, Sturken, Eakin, Martínez Saballos) • Daniel Torunian (Chu, Gee, Howard, Eakin) By roll call vote, the following members were appointed to the Police Advisory Committee for three-year terms ending May 31, 2028: • John McMullen (Gee, Howard, Padilla, Eakin, Martínez Saballos) • Joy Magana (Chu, Gee, Padilla, Sturken, Martinez Saballos) • Kathi Petrick (Padilla, Sturken, Eakin, Martínez Saballos)
