Attachment B <br />Funding Requested $20,000. <br />Recommended Funding $20,000. <br />Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County – Homesavers: Preserving Affordable Housing in our <br />Community. The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County keeps low-income tenants in their <br />affordable homes by defending them against illegal and unfair evictions through in-court <br />representation and out-of-court advocacy. Legal Aid SMC also educates tenants about their rights <br />and legal protections. They answer dozens of tenant questions each week through their Housing <br />Intake Line and provide in-person services in their Redwood City offices, and in weekly housing <br />clinics in the community. Remote services are available for those who have transportation or <br />mobility issues. <br />Funding Requested $15,000. <br />Recommended Funding $10,000. <br />Nuestra Casa <br />Nuestra Casa partners with Latino families to help them navigate the complicated systems that <br />impact their lives from immigration to social services to health care. Nuestra Casa develops <br />educational offerings in direct response to the needs of their members. This grant will allow <br />Nuestra Casa to support one .15 FTE program coordinator position to oversee outreach and high <br />touch/intensive case management support for housing and other basic needs. It will also support <br />600 hours of Promotora outreach time during the contract period. Our Program Coordinator will <br />work alongside our Promotora team to ensure low-income Redwood City residents know our <br />services. <br />Funding Requested: $15,000. <br />Recommended Funding: $10,000. <br />One Life Counseling- <br />One Life’s Safety Net Program was created in response to the urgent needs of the families they <br />serve for food and necessities. Many of those they serve are immigrant, low-wage, and <br />undocumented residents who face ongoing financial hardship. Originally, they had a small food <br />distribution program through their therapy offices, providing 200 pounds of food per week to <br />food-insecure families. Over time, with the support of over 1,500 caring volunteers and dozens <br />of donors, they hired a full-time program manager and have exponentially expanded the program <br />to meet growing demand—now providing up to 38,000 pounds of food per month along with <br />essential items like diapers, clothes, and shoes. <br />Funding Requested $20,000. <br />Recommended Funding $10,000 <br />Peninsula Family Service – Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center – Meals and Wellness. <br />Peninsula Family Service strengthens the community by providing children, families, and older <br />adults the support and tools to realize their full potential and lead healthy, stable lives.
