ATTY/ORD.0008/CC ORD BUILDING CODE ADOPTION – EXHIBIT B <br />REV: 08-28-25 MI <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Article IX - Code Enforcement Generated Permits <br />Sec 14.131 - PERMIT APPLICATION AND SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. An application for a building permit required by a code enforcement action shall be filed by the property <br />owner or their duly authorized representative (Applicant). <br />B. The submission shall be deemed incomplete if the building permit application is not fully executed, plans <br />or documents are missing, and/or fees have not been paid within (60) calendar days of the application <br />filing date. <br />C. If this deadline is not met, the permit application shall be deemed abandoned and automatically <br />canceled, and code enforcement activity shall resume. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.132 – PLAN REVIEW RESPONSE <br />A. Once plans are reviewed and comments are issued, the Applicant must resubmit for re-review within <br />thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the issuance of comments. <br />B. Failure to respond within the resubmittal timeframe shall result in the application being abandoned and <br />canceled and code enforcement activity shall resume. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.133 – ONE-TIME EXTENSION <br />A. The Applicant may request one (1) extension for one of the submittal deadlines listed in Section 14.131 <br />or Section 14.132, but not both. The request must be in writing, with justifiable cause demonstrating the <br />need for an extension, and must be submitted before the submittal deadline. <br />B. All extension requests shall be reviewed and decided by the Chief Building Official or their designee. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.134 – INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS <br />A. An initial inspection shall be scheduled and passed within sixty (60) calendar days from the permit <br />issuance date. <br />B. Thereafter, subsequent inspections must be done at intervals not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days from <br />the date of the last passed inspection. <br />C. The permit remains active only if each required inspection is completed and passed within the prescribed <br />timeframe. <br />D. Failure to meet these inspection deadlines may result in the cancellation of the permit by the Chief <br />Building Official and resumption of the code enforcement process. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.135 – PERMIT DURATION AND FINAL APPROVAL <br />The building permit shall remain valid through the final inspection and approval, provided that all provisions of <br />this Article are continuously satisfied. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.136 – FEES, DOCUMENTATION, REINSTATEMENT, AND CREDITS/REFUNDS <br />Fees and Documentation. If a permit is canceled for failure to comply with any of the provisions of this Article, <br />the following shall apply:
