ATTY/RESO.0098/CC RESO APPROVING CHANGES TO DENTAL INSURANCE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2026 <br />REV: 09-17-25 MI <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16357 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AMENDING THE 2026 DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS AS <br />PROVIDED IN THE SUMMARIES OF COMPENSATION AND TERMS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT FOR THE UNREPRESENTED EXECUTIVE <br />MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEE GROUP AND CONFIDENTIAL <br />EMPLOYEES <br />WHEREAS, the Summary of Compensation and Terms of Employment for the <br />Executive Management Employee Group, effective March 10, 2025 provides, in Article IV <br />entitled Health and Welfare Benefits, that, “The City shall continue to provide to eligible <br />employees and dependents, including domestic partners, dental insurance. Coverage to <br />be as follows: $2,100 annual cap for basic coverage and $2,500 lifetime cap for <br />orthodonture effective October 1, 2001. The City will pay ninety percent (90%) of the <br />dental insurance premium for eligible employees and dependents;” and <br />WHEREAS, the Summary of Compensation and Terms of Employment for the <br />Confidential Employee Group, effective March 10, 2025 through September 30, 2027, <br />provides in Article IV entitled Health and Welfare Benefits, Section 5 entitled Dental <br />Insurance, that, “The City shall continue to provide to eligible employees and dependents <br />dental insurance program through the term of this agreement to include coverages as <br />follows: two thousand dollars ($2,000) annual cap for basic coverage and two thousand <br />five hundred $2,500 lifetime cap for orthodonture effective October 1, 2001. The City will <br />pay ninety percent (90%) of the dental insurance premium for eligible employees and <br />dependents;” and <br />WHEREAS, the calendar year 2025 Delta Dental plan for Executive Management <br />employees pays for 80% of the cost of approved services, and the employee is <br />responsible for 20% of the cost of approved services, subject to the annual cap of <br />$2,100.00 for basic coverage and $2,500.00 lifetime cap for orthodonture, and subject to <br />other terms and conditions of the plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the calendar year 2025 Delta Dental plan for Confidential employees <br />pays for 80% of the cost of approved services, and the employee is responsible for 20% <br />of the cost of approved services, subject to the annual cap $2,000.00 annual cap for basic <br />coverage and $2,500.00 lifetime cap for orthodonture, and subject to other terms and <br />conditions of the plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City agreed with City bargaining units to form a City-wide dental <br />committee to review dental plan options, and, as a result of the work of the committee, <br />determined that the City could adopt plan improvements to the Delta Dental plan for <br />calendar year 2026
