Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: September 29, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Housing and Human Concerns Committee Work Plan for FY 2025-2026 and FY 2026-2027 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve the Housing and Human Concerns Committee Work Plan for FY 2025-2026 and <br />FY 2026-2027. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council directed each advisory Board, Committee and Commission (BCC) to prepare a two-year <br />work plan for City Council review and approval. Work plans are prepared by BCC members and City staff. <br />The Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC) was initially established by City Council in 1977. <br />The mission of the HHCC is to advocate for the improvement of the quality of life of residents of the City <br />to ensure that human considerations and housing needs, as set forth in the General Plan, are given <br />adequate consideration in the decision-making process. The HHCC’s area of responsibilities currently <br />include the following: <br />1. Monitor changing social needs within the community and make recommendations for improved, <br />changed and/or new services; <br />2. Promote community awareness of social problems existing within Redwood City; <br />3. Coordinate human service activities within the community; <br />4. Promote adequate housing for all persons; <br />5. Advocate housing selection by location, type, price, and tenure, and a free choice of housing for all <br />residents; <br />8.A. - Page 1 of 13 <br />294
