The plan is based on a comprehensive analysis of <br />collisions in Redwood City, utilizing the FHWA’s Safe System approach, the top 10 collision profiles, and <br />proposed countermeasures to address each profile. The proposed countermeasures include both <br />infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects that target driving behavior, speed management, and safer <br />crossings. The Plan also identifies top 10 Vision Zero corridors and/or intersections in Redwood City. <br />Vision Zero Task Force <br />At the City Council’s direction, a Vision Zero Task Force was established to coordinate Vizion Zero projects <br />and programs. Representatives from multiple city departments and partners such as the Redwood City <br />School District and the San Mateo County Public Health Department meet quarterly. <br />Vision Zero and Traffic Safety Projects <br />The Redwood City Walk Bike Thrive Plan identified the top 10 Vision Zero locations in Redwood City listed <br />in Table 4. To date, staff have initiated several projects to address the traffic safety challenges and needs <br />along these Vision Zero corridors. Other than 10 Vision Zero projects, other traffic safety projects are <br />initiated by community requests or petitions from impacted neighborhoods and supported by traffic <br />studies to justify the priority of the project. <br />11.A. - Page 8 of 15 <br />391
