Set a Public Hearing on the second reading and adoption of the Ordinances on <br />September 29, 2025. <br /> <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br /> <br />Motion and second, Sturken and Howard, to: <br />1. Hold a Public Hearing; <br />2. Adopt a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopting findings <br />of necessity and need for amendments, deletions, and additions to the 2025 California <br />Building and Fire Standards Codes; <br />3. Waive first reading and introduce an ordinance (1) repealing and replacing Chapter <br />9 (Buildings) of the Redwood City Code and adopting new Chapter 9 to include Title <br />24, Parts 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 of the California Code of Regulations <br />(the 2025 California Building, Residential, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy, <br />Wildland-Urban Interface, Historical Building, Existing Building, Green Building <br />Standards, and California Reference Standards Codes), together with certain <br />amendments, exceptions, modifications and additions thereto, and adopting the 2024 <br />International Property Maintenance Code and (2) amending Redwood City Code <br />Chapters 14 (Refuse, Weed, Nuisance and Abandoned Shopping Cart Regulation and <br />Abatement) and 24 (Noise Regulation); <br />4. Waive first reading and introduce an ordinance repealing Article II (Redwood City <br />Fire Code) of Chapter 12 (Fire Prevention) of the Redwood City Code (except Section <br />12.7.1) and adopting the new Article II of the Chapter 12 adopting Title 24, Part 9 of <br />the California Code of Regulations, namely the 2025 California Fire Code together with <br />Non-building standards of 2024 International Fire Code, certain local amendments, <br />exceptions, modifications and additions thereto; and <br />5. Set a Public Hearing on the second reading and adoption of the Ordinances on <br />September 29, 2025. <br />The motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> <br />11.
