Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: October 13, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Final acceptance of the 2023-2024 Watermain Replacement Project Cambridge and Emerald Hills <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the 2023-2024 Watermain Replacement Project Cambridge and Emerald Hills and <br />authorize the release of bonds and retention according to City procedures. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 2023-2024 Watermain Replacement Project Cambridge and Emerald Hills (Project) implements <br />recommendations from the Water System Master Plan to replace and upgrade aging pipelines. The project <br />replaced 7,737 linear feet of deteriorated and under capacity water mains with more durable and larger <br />eight-inch polyvinyl chloride pipes along Emerald Hill Road, Farm Hill Boulevard, Glenloch Way, Hillway <br />Drive, Hopkins Avenue, Lakeview Way, Red Oak Way, Upland Road, Wessex Way, West Fox Court, and <br />Yorkshire Lane. Water service laterals within the project area also were upgraded and existing fire <br />hydrants were replaced with new ones. <br />On August 24, 2024, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Project to Casey <br />Construction Inc. of Emerald Hills for their low bid of $3,788,461. <br />7.A. - Page 1 of 4 <br />7
