DATE: October 27, 2025 <br />TITLE: BOARD OF PORT COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY - FISCAL YEAR 2025 <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />• Generated $10.7 million in revenue for FY25 by moving 1.5 million metric tons of cargo <br />across Port docks. <br />• Funded nearly $700K in City services – $596K in subvention used for citywide services, <br />$100K in City contract services to the Port, and in matching funds for City projects funded <br />through the Port Security Grant Program grants (PSPG). <br />• Completed berth dredging to facilitate improved cargo operations with total project cost <br />of approximately $2M. <br />• Regional transportation collaboration includes the future ferry undergoing <br />CEQA/preliminary engineering; DEIR slated to occur in first quarter of calendar year 2026 <br />and the 101/84 interchange project advocacy and grant funding (MTC advocacy). <br />• Continued event series, including Saturday free concerts from March through November, <br />summer season kick-off with a free lighted drone show, and other activating programs <br />along the marina promenade, welcoming the public to explore the waterfront. <br /> <br />GOALS FY 2024-25 <br />The Port’s cargo operations, fueling our region’s construction activities and recycling programs <br />for the broader Silicon Valley region, serve as the economic engine to provide the community <br />waterfront activation for our residents. <br /> <br />The Port’s overarching Goals for FY 2025-26 include: <br />• Advance/construct Living Shoreline project, a nature-based solution for infrastructure <br />resiliency and sea level rise. Pilot project to facilitate future policy direction based upon <br />success criteria. <br />• Diversification of new cargo opportunities to create new marine highway in the south bay, <br />further eliminating truck traffic from our regional roadways. <br />• Complete engineering/construction of the new RWCPD/FD jet dock with total project cost <br />of approximately $2.5M. <br />• Issue CEQA (EIR) certification for the future ferry terminal project anticipated to occur in <br />the third/fourth quarter of calendar year 2026 (draft EIR anticipated in second quarter). <br />• Sponsor U.S. Army Corps of Engineers channel maintenance dredging project of $9M <br />appropriated in federal funding. <br />• Continue efforts to advance the 101/84 interchange and identify funding opportunities <br />through both state and federal sources. <br />• Ongoing public activation of the waterfront that includes FREE lighted drone show, <br />continuous concert series, PortFest, and continuation of other events (Chamber mixers). <br />• Host annual public safety emergency drill and exercise with the City of Redwood City and <br />other federal/state/regional first responder agencies. <br /> <br />6.B. - Page 3 of 4 <br />11
