HIGHLIGHTS
Art Kiosk Installation Project
The RCIA marked its sixth year of support for the
rotating Art Kiosk Installations through an annual
funding of $50K. Curated by Fung Collaboratives,
the initiative thrived in 2024, showcasing a vibrant
mix of local and international artistry. Featured
installations included The Falling Crown by
Naledi Tshegofatso Modupi, Oracle by Sheila
Ghidini, and Shadows & Light, The Legacy of
Guernica by Mexican artist Fernando Escartiz.
These compelling works not only brought diverse
perspectives to the forefront but also sparked
meaningful conversations and fostered a strong
sense of community in Redwood City. Amplified
by consistent outreach through newsletters, social
media, and other media platforms, the project
drew widespread attention and engagement.
Located in one of the Courthouse Square kiosks,
the Art Kiosk project aims to further enhance and
beautify the community for residents and visitors
— establishing downtown as a dynamic artistic
destination in San Mateo County.
PAGE 6 • 2024 ANNUAL REPORT
Community Events
The RCIA celebrated the lively spirit of
community that echoed through Courthouse
Square and the streets of Downtown, as events
drew residents and visitors together in joyful
connection including Movies on the Square, Music
on the Square, ART on the Square, Kids Rock,
Oktoberfest, Día de Los Muertos and Zoppe
International Circus, next to the Downtown Public
Library.
