City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Following completeness, the City will have 60 days to review the project for consistency with objective
standards and issue a letter requesting corrections, if necessary. If the project meets all objective
planning, zoning, subdivision and design standards, considering any applicable State Density Bonus Law
concessions and waivers, it will be processed according to the streamlined ministerial approval
requirements and statutory timeframes.
EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT
There are 2,596 households headed by elderly residents, representing 8.4% of total households and 13%
of the population in Redwood City. A total of 5.5% of elderly residents are living in poverty in Redwood
City (Housing Element). The project would provide much-needed affordable housing that is deed
restricted to provide affordable rents for low, very-low, and extremely-low income households for
residents that are age 55 years old and over.
FISCAL IMPACT
No budget allocation is required for this project. If approved at a later date, the Applicant would pay all
required fees including application fees, permit fees, development impact fees, water, and sewer capacity
fees.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This informational public meeting is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as
defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or
reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment as no action will be taken and no
construction will be authorized. If this project ultimately utilizes a streamlined ministerial approval
process pursuant to SB 35, any approval would be ministerial and thus would be exempt CEQA pursuant
to Public Resources Code 21080(b)(1).
PUBLIC NOTICE
At least ten days before the public meeting date, notice of the City Council public meeting was mailed to
property owners and tenants within 300 feet of the project site and published in the San Mateo Daily
Journal. In addition, public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being
listed, at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
If the City Council is unable to complete the public meeting, the public meeting would need to be re-
scheduled prior to December 1, 2025 (45 days from the Notice of Intent) to comply with the pre-submittal
requirements of SB 423.
9.A. - Page 6 of 7
430
