Seaport Centre Levee System Operation and Maintenance Manual <br />Decernber 2022 <br />Immediately following each earthquake based upon the following criteria: <br />• Earthquakes measuring less than 5.0 on the Richter scale, inspection shall be <br />performed when the epicenter is within 3 miles of the project <br />• Earthquakes measuring 5.0 to 6.0 on the Richter scale, inspections shall be <br />performed when the epicenter is less than 30 miles from the project <br />• For earthquakes measuring 6.0 or higher on the Richter scale, inspectionsshall be <br />performed when the epicenter is less than 50 miles from the project <br />• Inspections shall also be performed after any earthquakes in whichspecific <br />reports of damage to the project are received <br />3.3 City Inspections of Flood Control Elements <br />• Levee embankments <br />• Interior drainage (pipes, flap gates, isolation gates, valves) <br />• Levee penetrations are visually inspected and by video or walk-through every 5 years. <br />Frequency will be increased if deficiencies are noted. <br />• Levee elevations along the entire alignment shall be surveyed every 30 years to verify <br />forecast elevations following settlement.
