Page 2 of 11 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 16, 2020, the City Council approved the South Main Mixed-Use project, later renamed the <br />Elco Yards project, a mixed-use development on 6 blocks (8.3 acres) with 540 multifamily residential units <br />(including 147 affordable units), 109,347 sq. ft. of office, 420,653 sq. ft. of research & development, <br />28,841 sq. ft. of retail, and a 8,367 sq. ft. child care facility generally located between El Camino Real, <br />Maple Street, Cedar Street and Main Street, within the Mixed-Use Corridor (MUC-ECR) and Mixed-Use <br />Transitional (MUT) zoning districts, and at 1304 El Camino Real, within the Downtown Precise Plan (DTPP) <br />area (see Figure 1 – Site Plan, and Figure 2 – Project Context – lots A and D are dashed in red for reference <br />to the current request).
