The City conducted a nationwide search to fill the City Manager position and the City Council has <br />selected Patrick Heisinger as the finalist. The Mayor recommends that the City Council approve the <br />employment agreement with a start date of December 31, 2025 to ensure continuous leadership to City <br />staff and the community. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, appoint Patrick Heisinger to the position of City Manager of the City of Redwood City <br />commencing December 31, 2025, and approve and authorize the Mayor to execute Mr. Heisinger's <br />employment agreement. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />Earlier this year, City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz announced her intention to retire at the end of <br />December 2025. An Ad Hoc Committee was formed consisting of Mayor Martínez Saballos, Council <br />Member Gee, and Council Member Chu to work with the consultant on an extensive search process for a <br />new City Manager. <br />9.A. - Page 1 of 11 <br />284
