Perforated brick window near the entrance <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Property does qualify for a Historic Preservation Agreement <br />(Mills Act Contract); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the residents <br />therein, that a Historic Preservation Agreement (Mills Act Contract) be approved to assist <br />in the restoration and preservation of the Property. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council, having independently heard, considered, and <br />weighed all the evidence in the record, finds that the above recitals are accurate and <br />constitute findings in this matter, and together with the staff report and all application <br />materials, including without limitation the development plans, and all other documents, <br />reports, studies, memoranda, maps, oral and written testimony, and materials in the City’s <br />file for the application, and all adopted City documents relating to the Project and the <br />Property including the City’s General Plan, Municipal Code, other applicable City laws <br />and regulations, and all associated approved and certified environmental documents, <br />have together served as an adequate and appropriate evidentiary basis for the findings <br />and actions set forth in this resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council finds that the proposed Project is exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act under Section 15308 Class 8 <br />(Actions by Regulatory Agencies for Protection of the Environment) and Section 15331 <br />Class 31 (Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation). The Historic Preservation <br />Agreement (Mills Act Contract) will ensure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, <br />and protection of the environment (which includes historical resources), and because the <br />future maintenance and preservation work carried out is required to be consistent with <br />the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council hereby designates the residence and property located <br />at 839 Blandford Boulevard, Redwood City, California a Historic Landmark and approves <br />the Mills Act Contract for the subject property and authorizes the City Manager or <br />designee to execute the Mills Act Contract. <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council directs staff to file all property documents for <br />recordation with the San Mateo County Recorder’s Office. <br /> <br />Section 5.
