Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: December 8, 2025 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement for Services with YEI Engineers, Inc. to provide as-needed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing <br />engineering services <br />SUMMARY <br />The Public Works Services Department is responsible for implementing various repair and remodel <br />projects for City facilities and often requires a consultant to perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing <br />(“MEP”) engineering services for various projects. Using cooperative purchasing through an existing <br />agreement awarded by the County of Santa Clara for the same services, staff is seeking approval for an <br />agreement with a consultant to provide MEP engineering services on an as-needed basis. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a four-year Agreement for Services with <br />YEI Engineers, Inc. to perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services in an amount not <br />to exceed $600,000 through 2029. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Public Works Services Department (“PWS”) is responsible for implementing various repair and <br />remodel projects for City facilities. When developing project scopes for bid solicitations, staff requires the <br />services of qualified design engineers.
