CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />CRIME ANALYST (Continued) <br />3 <br />Proficiently use crime analysis software and tools such as Record Management <br />Systems (RMS), GIS, Excel, and Tableau. <br />Work collaboratively with law enforcement personnel at all levels, and other <br />stakeholders or community members. <br />Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment. <br />Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with <br />applicable laws and department policies and procedures. <br />EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION <br />Any combination of experience and education that would provide the required <br />knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and <br />abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />One or more years of experience performing analytical work involving <br />data collection, interpretation, reporting, or crime analysis, preferably in a <br />law enforcement, criminal justice, or public safety setting. <br />Education: <br />Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or <br />university with major coursework in criminology, criminal justice, public <br />administration, statistics, data analysis, geographic information systems, <br />or a related field. <br />Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year <br />basis. <br />License or Certificate: <br />Certification in crime or intelligence analysis from a recognized professional <br />organization such as the International Association of Crime Analysts(IACA), <br />International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA), or <br />the Department of Justice (DOJ) is desirable, though not required. <br />Special Requirements: <br />Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: <br />Ability to work in a standard office environment and use standard office <br />equipment, including a computer; occasionally travel to visit various City and <br />meeting sites as needed; vision to read printed materials and a computer <br />ATTY/RESO.0125/CC RESO AMENDING CLASSIFICATION AND WAGE AND SALARY PLAN (CRIME ANALYST) - EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 12-05-25 MI
