6 <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve <br />Two Administrative Holidays <br /> <br />• Administrative Holiday - At the option of the employee, an employee may receive pay at <br />the employee’s straight-time rate of pay in lieu of one or both of the administrative <br />holidays at eight (8) hours per administrative holiday. In the event that one or both of the <br />administrative holidays are not used by the last pay period paid in the year (based on the <br />preceding twenty-six (26) pay periods), payment will be made no later than the first pay <br />period in February. <br />• Holiday During Vacation - In the event any of the holidays above occur while an employee <br />is on vacation or sick leave, the holiday shall not be charged as vacation or sick leave. <br />• Banked Holiday - In the event an employee is required to work on a City recognized holiday <br />due to an emergency situation or a City-sponsored event (e.g. July 4th event), or as otherwise <br />stated below, the employee may code the holiday worked as “banked holiday earned”, be <br />paid regular pay on the City recognized holiday, and accrue eight (8) hours of “banked holiday <br />earned” to be taken as single, uninterrupted eight (8) hours of leave on another regularly <br />scheduled workday. In situations that are not an emergency situation or City-sponsored <br />event, the employee must obtain pre-approval from their department head or their designee <br />to work on a City recognized holiday. The positions of City Manager, City Attorney, Assistant <br />City Manager, Police and Fire Chiefs, and Department Directors do not require pre-approval <br />to work on a City recognized holiday. <br />• <br />• Banked holiday hours not used by December 31 in the calendar year will not be eligible to be <br />carried over to the following calendar year. In the event that banked holiday hours are not <br />used by December 31 in the calendar year, payment of a maximum of two (2) unused banked <br />holidays (16 hours) will be made no later than the first pay period in February. <br /> <br />d. Sick Leave - Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all full-time regular employees except as <br />hereinafter provided, at the rate of one (1) 8-hour working day for each full calendar month <br />of service (3.693 hours per pay period), credited on a biweekly basis. <br /> <br />Sick leave shall be defined as the non-job related absence from work due to: <br /> <br />1. Diagnosis, care, or treatment of an existing health condition of, or preventative care for <br />the employee themselves or any of the following family members of the employee: a child <br />of any age or dependency status; a parent; a parent-in-law; a spouse; a registered <br />domestic partner; a grandparent; a grandchild; or a sibling; or <br /> <br />2. Diagnosis, care, or treatment of an existing health condition of, or preventative care for a <br />“designated person.” A designated person, for purposes of this provision, means a person <br />identified by the employee covered by this Summary at the time that employee requests <br />ATTY/RESO.0129/CC RESO AMENDING CLASSIFICATION AND WAGE AND SALARY PLAN (EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT) - EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 12-17-25 MI
