REV: 12-09-25 VR <br />Prepare letters in support of Redwood City's adopted legislative position to <br />members of the state legislature, executive branch, and other officials in State <br />government as needed. <br />Testify at the direction of and on behalf of the City at hearings before legislative <br />committees. <br />Prepare written testimony for City officials who wish to testify before legislative <br />committees. <br />Conduct at least one briefing per year to the Mayor and City Council and key <br />City departments as identified by the City Manager's Office. <br />Coordinate and lead an annual Sacramento educational visit for City officials, <br />tailored to the City’s legislative priorities, including meetings with legislative offices, <br />committee staff, Administration officials, and relevant state agencies. <br />Provide briefing materials and talking points for City officials in advance of Capitol <br />visits to ensure consistent and effective communication of the City’s priorities. <br />Arrange and facilitate meetings with key state agencies and legislative <br />stakeholders throughout the year, as needed, to advance the City’s legislative, <br />regulatory, and funding priorities. <br />Register to lobby, on behalf of Redwood City, with the necessary State officers <br />and agencies, requirements mandated by the Fair Political Practices <br />Commission (“FPPC”), and any other legal requirements. <br />Grant Monitoring and Writing Services <br />Provide full-cycle grant proposal development, including drafting project <br />narratives, preparing required forms and attachments, and developing preliminary <br />project budgets in collaboration with City staff. <br />Conduct ongoing funding opportunity research and provide the City with regular <br />updates, including a monthly Funding Opportunities Catalog aligned with City <br />priorities. <br />Produce a monthly Grant Activity Report summarizing proposals in development, <br />submitted applications, funding outcomes, and upcoming opportunities relevant to <br />the City. <br />Engage with state departments and legislative offices to advocate for City grant <br />applications and secure letters of support as needed. <br />Conduct grant readiness assessments to evaluate project competitiveness, <br />required documentation, and overall readiness for available funding programs. <br />Provide quality control review of all grant applications prior to submission to ensure <br />completeness, accuracy, and alignment with program requirements. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.336/California Public Policy, Inc.
