As furniture <br />ages or becomes obsolete, it is replaced with new furniture to promote ergonomic workspaces and <br />provide a cohesive aesthetic within work areas. In some cases, staff may also need to purchase new <br />furniture to accommodate an expanding workforce. Most suppliers servicing the commercial industry <br />have staff with specialized training who assist customers with designing workspaces that meet industry <br />standards and maximize efficiency. They also use specially trained workers to install interconnected <br />workplace furniture such as cubicle systems. The proposed agreement will allow the Public Works Services <br />Department to have a qualified supplier capable of providing the necessary goods and services for the <br />foreseeable future. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a four-year Agreement for Services with <br />Pivot Interiors, Inc. for specialized design services and the supply and installation of furniture in an amount <br />not to exceed $1,200,000. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />8.M. - Page 1 of 40 <br />647
