It also removes outdated terminology and <br />requirements. The proposed changes advance the City Council’s adopted Strategic Priority of <br />Transportation by promoting active transportation and zero emission trips. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance amending Chapter 8 of the Redwood City Municipal <br />Code by renaming Chapter 8 from “Micromobility Devices and Operations” to “Electric Mobility Device, <br />Non-Motorized Mobility Device, and Bicycle Regulations”, repealing Articles I through III and replacing <br />them with a new Article I, and renumbering Article IV to Article II. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />Promoting active or non-auto modes of transportation has been a City Council strategic priority for the <br />past few years. The goal is to support sustainability and zero emission trips by creating and implementing <br />programs, policies, and infrastructure to support zero emission trips.
