December 15, 2025

Dear Mayor Saballos and City Council Members,
My current term as Redwood City’s Trustee and representative on the San Mateo County and Vector
Control District (SMCMVCD) Board of Trustees will end this December 2025 and I would be honored if
you would consider allowing me to continue in this role. As you know, I have been serving as Redwood
City’s representative since 2014. In my tenure, I have served as the Board Vice President, Assistant
Secretary of the Board, Chair of the Manager’s Evaluation Committee, and as a member of the Policy
and Ad Hoc Real Estate Committees
I greatly value being able to contribute to an organization that works to protect the health of our
community. I am deeply committed to special district management and governance. In addition to my
role as Trustee of the Board, I now serve as the General Manager of the Mid-Peninsula Water District in
Belmont, which provides me with additional experience and perspective that I am able to bring to the
SMCMVCD board. I feel that I have contributed significantly to the Board and the District governance in
my years of service and would very much like to continue to serve the community in this manner. For
these reasons, I kindly ask for you to re-appoint me for a four-year term.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerest Regards,

Kat Wuelfing Lion
Trustee Representing Redwood City
San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District

10.B. - Page 4 of 5
794
