The Public Space Framework
envisions a network of public spaces—with streets as an integral component—that offers more equitable
access to open space across the Plan Area and is highly integrated with the land use and mobility
frameworks.
Figure 4 – GDAP Vision Framework: Public Spaces
As shown on Figure 4, key features of the Framework include:
Streetscape enhancements on key corridors that connect Districts and Neighborhoods with
special emphasis on Broadway and Main Street as backbones of the public space network. These
may include improvements that enhance greening/aesthetics, mobility, climate resilience, and
infrastructure.
Neighborhood greenways that serve to connect and provide needed neighborhood green space.
A much-enhanced Redwood Creek open space that is a signature community resource and
gateway to the Bay.
Improved connectivity to Hoover Park.
New public parks and open spaces that could utilize both public and private land in identified
future coordinated development areas.
12.A. - Page 7 of 69
226
