Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: January 26, 2026 <br />SUBJECT <br />Final acceptance of the Redwood City Veterans Memorial Exhibit Design Project <br />SUMMARY <br />The Redwood City Veterans Memorial Exhibit Design Project includes several interactive electronic <br />exhibits that share stories from veterans within our community, spotlight the National Football League <br />(NFL) Alumni Association, and showcase the history of the San Francisco 49ers training facility that once <br />was located at Red Morton Park. The City Council awarded the construction contract to Cinnabar <br />California in 2022. The project is now complete and ready for acceptance. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the Redwood City Veterans Memorial Exhibit Design Project and authorize the release <br />of bonds and retention according to City procedures. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The new Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center Project (“VMSC”) is a significant initiative to serve the <br />City’s senior population and honor its veterans. Conceptualized as a hub for community interaction, senior <br />services, health services, recreational activities, and commemorative events, VMSC reflects the City’s <br />commitment to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all residents. The new 45,000 square <br />foot facility includes multipurpose rooms for events, meetings, and workshops; non-profit center, health <br />8.B. - Page 1 of 6 <br />13
