Page 4 of 10 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />Figure 1: Project Location Map <br />Summary of Community Outreach and Alternatives Development <br />Three rounds of community outreach have been conducted for this project with an array of stakeholders <br />and using a variety of formats. <br />Round One of Outreach <br />The first round of outreach for this project started in March 2025 with a school walk audit around <br />Orion School with the goal of observing traffic operation around the school during morning drop-off <br />and afternoon pick-up school times and identify mobility needs and opportunities around the school <br />site for more convenient and safer access. The walk audit included stakeholders representing school <br />and school district staff, parents, students, Redwood City engineering and police department staff, <br />members of Transportation Advisory Committee and Planning Commission, and area residents. The <br />walk audit was organized by the County Office of Education and resulted in a summary report. <br />In April 2025, the City held the first in-person community meeting for this project. Bi-lingual <br />English/Spanish meeting invites were mailed to about 2,400 properties within one block of the project <br />corridor and advertised through neighborhood associations. About 50 community members attended <br />this in-person meeting. At this meeting, City staff presented facts and technical analysis results such <br />as traffic volume and collisions rates around the project corridor, asked for community comments and <br />11.B. - Page 4 of 17 <br />181
