Receive a summary update on the Jefferson Avenue Traffic Safety <br />Improvement Project; and <br />2. By motion, approve Alternative B for final engineering design and <br />construction. <br />CEQA: <br />As the lead agency under CEQA, the City of Redwood City has determined that <br />approval of the staff recommended design alternative is not a “project” as <br />defined by the CEQA Guidelines because it will not result in either a direct <br />physical change in the environment or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical <br />change in the environment. <br />11.C.Utilize exception to Public Employees' Pension Reform Act 180-day waiting <br />period for post-retirement employment in order to hire retired annuitant to <br />perform duties of Extra Help Deputy Fire Chief <br />Recommendation: <br />Adopt a resolution approving an exception to the Public Employees' Pension <br />Reform Act 180-day waiting period and appointing retired annuitant Gregory <br />DaCunha as Extra Help Deputy Fire Chief effective January 27, 2026, or upon <br />CalPERS approval to hire, whichever is later. <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />5
