TENTATIVE AGREEMENT - ADDENDUM TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN REDWOOD CITY AND SEIU LOCAL 521 <br />RE: CONTRACT EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />Page 16 of 23 <br />15.45 Salary Increase on Reclassification <br />Unless a higher rate of pay is mutually agreed upon by the parties, the reclassified <br />employee(s) shall go to the first step of the new classification description, or shall <br />receive a five percent (5%) increase in pay, whichever is greater. In the case of a five <br />percent (5%) increase in pay, the employee(s) shall receive the five percent (5%) <br />increase in pay even if that takes them between steps, until they reach the maximum <br />pay of the top step. <br />15.56 Regular Part-Time Appointment <br />15.5.1 Regular part-time appointments may be made when there is part-time work <br />to be performed on a regular and continuous basis and upon certification by <br />the Department Head to which the appointment is to be made, to the <br />Personnel Officer or designee that the employee is to be scheduled to work <br />continuously during a twelve (12) month period. <br /> Benefits for regular part-time appointments, including life insurance, long- <br />term disability insurance, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, <br />vacations, sick leave, administrative holidays and other leaves, and <br />educational expense reimbursement shall be granted on a prorated basis <br />urs each week by <br /> <br />15.5.2 Regular part-time appointed employees who are scheduled to work on a <br />holiday, but granted the holiday off, shall be paid their established rate of pay <br />for the hours they normally would have worked. <br />15.5.3 Any regular full- time employee going to regular part-time employment will <br />retain their sick leave and vacation benefits. However, the employee will only <br />receive vacation and sick leave accrual proportional to the amount of time <br />worked. Health benefits will also be paid in proportion to time worked. A <br />regular full- time employee going to regular part-time employment will not <br />serve a probationary period. <br />15.5.4 Variation of Hours and Benefits: <br /> The Parties acknowledge that the regularly scheduled hours of permanent <br />part-time employees in the representation unit may vary from year to year. To <br />ensure the equitable treatment of such employees, the Parties agree that each <br />July, upon request, the City shall prepare a list of the straight time hours <br />worked by each such employee in the immediately preceding fiscal year .
