Waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance amending Article I (In General), <br />Article II (Refuse Receptacles) and Article III (Collection and Disposition of Refuse) in <br />Chapter 14 of the Redwood City Municipal Code. <br /> <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br /> <br />Motion and second, Eakin and Padilla, to: <br />1. Hold a public hearing on proposed increases and adjustments to maximum solid <br />waste collection rates and solid waste charges and if written protests are not made by <br />a majority of the affected parcels against the solid waste collection rates, adopt a <br />resolution approving and authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 <br />to the Amended and restated Franchise Agreement with Recology San Mateo, and <br />approving maximum 2026 and 2027 solid waste collection rates, and approving solid <br />waste charges (requires 5/7 vote); <br />2. Direct staff to continue to promote the City's Utility Rate Assistance Program; and <br />3. Waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance amending Article I (In General), <br />Article II (Refuse Receptacles) and Article III (Collection and Disposition of Refuse) in <br />Chapter 14 of the Redwood City Municipal Code. <br />The motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> <br />9. Accept 2026 City Council Meeting Calendar (301) <br /> <br />City Clerk Yessika Castro provided an update to the 2026 City Council Meeting Calendar. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />By motion, accept the 2026 City Council meeting calendar. <br /> <br />Motion and second, Sturken and Gee, to accept the 2026 City Council Meeting <br />Calendar, passed unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> <br /> 10.B. City Council Member Report of Meetings and Conferences Attended <br /> <br /> A. City Council Report of Meetings and Conference Attendance <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />
